As artists, we are often faced with moments when we have to find ways to embrace and accept ourselves. Especially when getting started in the music industry, our insecurities and doubts can hold us back. Self-acceptance doesn’t happen overnight. It is a journey that we’re all on as we chase our dreams. I’m so excited to welcome Ben Selleck onto the show to talk all about embracing who we are as songwriters and artists.
The quote for this episode is by Lindsey Stirling: “Sometimes, being different feels a lot like being alone. But with that being said, being true to that and being true to my standards and my way of doing things in my art and my music, everything that has made me feel very different in the end, it has made me the happiest.” Ben and I discuss many ways we have to embrace ourselves as artists. From embracing our voices and songwriting styles to accepting our strengths and weaknesses as musicians, we cover it all in a very open and honest way.
