In Episode 26, Stuart McCullough invites Industrial Relations Consultant, Emma Scott to discuss the topic of Independent Contractors Vs Employees. They talk about the importance for members to recognise the difference between those two types of arrangements, as well as what happens in the event of disputes involving independent contractors and employees.  Ultimately, the range of enterprise agreements that determine the terms and conditions that apply to employees, does not apply to independent contractors. This includes the rights and protections as part of the Fair Work Act, which also doesn’t necessarily apply to contractors in the same way it does employees.
