The first incident involves my introduction to an annual phenomenon that took place at the Bijenkorf department store. The Drie Dwaze Dagen was a crazy shopping sale that encouraged the strangest behaviour in usually calm citizens.  The second is a recollection of the chaos caused when the Nigerian government changed the colours of the Naira banknotes - in an attempt to combat forgery - and gave everyone a limited time in which to exchange the old money for new.
