Travis Nelson is a 21-year-old dual degree student at Columbia University pursuing his BA in Political Science and Master of Public Administration. Born and raised in Hempstead, NY he is the proud product of a single-parent household and the Hempstead Union Free School District. Furthermore, Travis has been an avid community advocate since middle school. His work focuses on fostering civic engagement, civil and political rights, social justice, and community advocacy and has enabled him to influence policy and government affairs at every level in New York.
