1978 saw the emergence of the wildly popular disco group, The Village People. This group won the hearts of many.  They were formed in New York by newly transplanted French composer Jacques Morali. With international success from the debut album, it became clear a live act was necessary for touring and so began the recruitment. What came was a reflection of Greenwich Village in the mid 1970's and the raging disco scene of the time.
