Is it worth it? 

I often see people take unnecessary risks and I'm not sure why it is that they do it.

When I was a server at a restaurant at the Four Seasons hotel, we always had to write down the order.

We weren't taking a chance that we'd forget something in someone's order just to say that we were able to memorize.

Especially when you have a very simple tool in order to ensure that you got it right.

That exact thing happened to me today, someone took my order but wasn't writing it down.

I even thought to myself, "she isn't writing this down, is she going to forget something?".

Turns out, yep, she forgot something. The main ingredient that I went there for.
