Episode 27: Andrew Lynch on Making a Good Pitch

Listen Later

//
Today my guest was Andrew Lynch the manager of Book in a Box and owner of The Daily Practice Journal. Andrew got his start in the publishing business as an intern. He connected with great writers and offered his services for free until he could prove his usefulness.
Andrew tells me about his early days in London and his initial contact with Book in a Box co-founder Tucker Max. Andrew took a lot of inspiration from Tucker’s book I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell. After an initial turn down, Andrew reconnected with Tucker 4 years later and began helping him with research for another book Mate.
Andrew walks me through the process he and his team go through for each Book in a Box project. We talk about his ability to make a great pitch and how it has helped him get to where he is today.
Some of the other topics we discuss are:

Andrew’s Experience with Ramit Sethi and his bestseller I Will Teach You to be Rich.

The importance of a great email pitch.

Andrew’s impression of the US while working in Austin.

Andrew’s experience as a stand-up comedian.

Andrew’s confidence is certainly impressive and is one of the keys to his success. To learn more about him or Book in a Box send an email to [email protected] or visit andrewlynch.net.
