The term Mandela Effect describes a situation in which a person or a group of people have a false memory of an event. The term was coined by Fiona Broome, as she created a website detailing her memories of Nelson Mandela. However, Fiona and many others argue that Mandela died in prison in the 1980's, with some even claiming that there was international news coverage of the event.
This never happened. Mandela passed away in 2013 due to a respiratory infection.
Then, why do many remember his death in prison? Can a Mandela Effect be as simple as our mind remembering wrong details? Or can we be living in parallel universes and multiverses, and somehow our mind is able to travel through them?
No one is certain, but we have all experienced the Mandela Effect.
