Venom is a Spiderman villain in the Marvel universe, which Sony still owns the rights to as long as they keep making movies (that’s why we’ve had three Spiderman in 10 years)… But, unlike the latest Spiderman film, Sony did not share the production of them with Disney’s marvel studios.
