In 2 Timothy 1:5, the apostle Paul writes to his young protege: “I am reminded of your sincere faith.” In his first letter, in 1 Timothy 1:5, he had penned these words: “But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” Timothy exemplified that which Paul was hoping to nurture in all believers.

 

In the relationship between Paul and the young man he mentors and in the words of guidance he writes to him in 1 and 2 Timothy, we learn many practical lessons.
