The film kicks off with a breathtaking view of a Middle-earth map, paired with a dramatic narration that echoes The Fellowship of the Ring. This time, it’s Miranda Otto who voices the prologue as Éowyn, a cherished character first seen in The Two Towers. She introduces us to Héra, the fierce daughter of Helm Hammerhand, the king of Rohan. Héra’s personality and history closely resemble those of Éowyn. The narrator notes, “The girl could ride a horse before she could walk.” The plot thickens as a council gathers, where Freca, a local lord with ambitions for Helm’s throne, forcefully puts forward his son Wulf as a potential match for Héra.
