A word about today’s avatar — I spent a little quality time with my weekend edition of WSJ, and in the book review, I found this title, Gotham At War© 2025 by Mike Wallace (presumably of CBS News fame).
In the review of this 900-page tome, I can find no mention of the most famous photo of WWII in NYC, the capsized Normande'. She wasn’t just a beautiful ship; she was the pride of France.
