Meditating The Word

Episode 280: Proverbs 31

Listen Later

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Proverbs 31
I do not waste my strength or guzzle wine. Alcohol is for the dying, and wine for those in bitter distress. It is not for a daughter of the most High God.
Father, I will speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; and ensure justice for those being crushed. I speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
I am virtuous and capable. Jesus paid a high price for me, more precious than rubies.
I can be trusted, and I greatly enrich the lives of those around me. I bring good and not harm, all the days of my life.
I am industrious, and like a merchant’s ship, I bring food from afar. I get up before dawn to prepare breakfast for my household and plan the day’s work.
I invest wisely, and sow my earnings for a future harvest.
I am energetic and strong, a hard worker.
I make sure my dealings are profitable; burning the midnight oil when necessary.
I keep my hands busy, because you have promised to bless everything I set my hands to, Father.
I extend a helping hand to the poor and I open my arms to the needy.
I have no fear of winter for my household, for everyone has warm clothes, and warm bedding at night.
I dress in fine linen and purple gowns.
I make goods to sell to my customers.
I am clothed with strength and dignity and I laugh without fear of the future, because you are always with me.
When I speak, my words are wise, and I give instructions with kindness.
I carefully watch everything in my household and suffer nothing from laziness.
My children stand and bless me.
Charm is deceptive and beauty does not last, but I fear and reverance you, Father, and I am greatly praised. I am richly rewarded for all that I do.
So be it.
Until next time, be blessed and be a blessing.
