Bárbara Anderson is an expectant mother experiencing the typical anxieties associated with her first pregnancy. She and her husband, Andrés, arrive at the hospital prematurely; however, her water breaks, initiating the countdown to the onset of contractions. Amidst the pain and adrenaline of labor, she loses consciousness. Upon regaining awareness, she inquires about her baby, who is placed in an incubator and kept in an induced coma to alleviate the swelling in his brain. As their son Lucca matures, it becomes evident that the brain swelling has had lasting effects, resulting in a scar and the challenges of cerebral palsy.
