Science fiction is my favorite genre. Original, non-franchise films are my favorite. The two together are getting harder and harder to find. I want these films to be successful so that Hollywood will keep making money off of them. However, we have another botched attempt, much like with The Creator and 65. This film has a lot going on in it. A lot of stuff feels strange. The characters are incredibly dimwitted. They make so many dubious choices. Simply said, the writing is awful, which is perhaps also why I found it difficult to care about the plot.
