Mental Health Awareness Month has been "Monthing" for me. My emotions, feelings, and thoughts have been difficult to navigate here lately due to a recent devastating encounter. Have you ever had this to happen? How were you able to cope when your emotions were intent on keeping you down?
This episode we have Psychotherapist Dona Airey on and she teaches us the difference between feeling and emotions. Am I the only one who thought that they were the same thing? Well, they're not. In this episode we learn how to embrace our emotions and how to be accepting of the best way for us to express our emotions. She gives us some helpful tools to deal with being what's perceived as overly emotional, having a standoffish personality, how to deal with grief, how to deal with anger and how to express emotions safely.
