Everything We Learned

Episode 29 - The Dark Crystal

Listen Later

In this episode your intrepid hosts Dan and Tyler dive into Dan’s pick: 1982’s The Dark Crystal, a movie that is clearly a labor of love by Jim Henson with the help of Frank Oz and David Odell. What makes this movie so unique? How about the unbelievable Skeksis and Mystics puppets and the amount of time and effort put into making them move around set (it took four people to move one Skeksis!) The sets are also second to none.  What lessons were learned from this movie?  Having a sense of purpose, balancing two sides of a personality, and fulfilling one’s destiny, to name a few. And how did your hosts rate this movie?  Tune in to find out!  Watch the movie, or don’t, and listen in as your hosts cover the ins and outs of The Dark Crystal.

For their next viewing, Dan and Tyler are taking a joyride down memory lane to watch a “retired master car thief who must come back to the industry and steal fifty cars with his crew in one night to save his brother's life.” They’re watching the Nic Cage classic, Gone in Sixty Seconds, baby!
