On this episode, Derek sits with Col. Mike Mullane.  Mike is a former NASA Astronaut.  In Part 1, we discuss his very humble upbringings as the son of a World War 2 veteran, his time in the Vietnam War, how he was selected by NASA for the astronaut corps in 1978, training to become an astronaut, the maiden voyage of Discovery on STS-41-D, life in space and life on the space shuttle, Judith Resnik and the IMAX Camera, and the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster and the culture effect and feelings of the astronauts towards NASA because of it.
