TW: this episode contains discussion of drugs, overdosing, fentanyl, sexual assault, Rohypnol (date rape drugs), suicide, death, and other topics that may be disturbing for some listeners.
In this episode Amber, Cassie, Clara, and Lily talk about all things safety with drugs. We discuss the rise in fentanyl, party safety, and discuss social media and its roles in the increasing drug problem. We also discuss ways that people can help to protect themselves and others.
Important notes: The USI Take Back the Night March is held each year during April (sexual assault awareness month) by students at USI to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault and Gender Violence by raising awareness about the serious causes, effects and remediation to men's sexualized violence against women. Also, people are able to drop off their unwanted medications to participating locations anytime of the year, but Prescription Take Back Day aims to promote the safe disposal of drugs. For locations to drop of medications and a list of flushable drugs, visit https://www.fda.gov/drugs/disposal-unused-medicines-what-you-should-know/drug-disposal-drug-take-back-locations.
