In this episode, Saratoga Librarian Saralyn Otter and County Librarian Jennifer Weeks recount the development of the Saratoga Library, from a corner drugstore library in the 1910s to a formal community space by the 1950s, to its current site located at the heart of an orchard. We delve into how the library is intrinsically tied to Saratoga’s community as well as the technological transformations it has seen throughout the decades.Thanks to the efforts of various groups such as the Saratoga Foothill club, a women’s club, the library’s place as a destination for lifelong learning has been nurtured and sustained.
