The Future is Golden

Episode 3: Grief, Waiting and Possibility with Erin Canino

Listen Later

In this episode, Ruthie interviews Erin Canino, former SF-based attorney now working with IJM in the Philippines to explore the impact coaching had on her life. Erin reflects on her work with Ruthie and how it has helped her take steps towards her future. This conversation covers the grief we face when life doesn't go the way we planned, seasons of waiting, and the power of crafting vision for your future.

Erin is a California native working with International Justice Mission, an NGO fighting human trafficking and violence against women and children worldwide. She is currently living in the Philippines, where she assists the local IJM legal teams in fighting the online sexual abuse and exploitation of children through casework and advocacy. Previously, Erin worked as an attorney in San Francisco, advising both for-profit and non-profit clients in business law and labor and employment matters. She was also an active member of Reality SF, serving with the youth group and women's cohort teams and as a community group leader. Erin is passionate about women’s and children's rights, the environment, and—due to her Lake Tahoe upbringing—spending time in the outdoors.
