William (Bill) Hersh, MD is Professor and Chair of the Department of Medical Informatics & Clinical Epidemiology (DMICE) in the School of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Hersh has had a distinguished academic career with many accomplishments in research and education. He is currently President of the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics. Dr. Hersh is a prolific teacher in biomedical and health informatics and passionate advocate for data standards and interoperability in the field.
