Life can come at us pretty fast. The best way to manage life's ups and downs is to trust God. So, no matter what situation you are facing or what you are believing God to accomplish for you before the end of the year, you will need these simple steps to trusting God.
Scripture Gem: "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God." ~ Psalm 20:7
This passage in Psalm 20:7 holds wisdom as simple as ABC for how to manage life's up and downs while maintaining your faith. This scripture gem shows us that we must A. stop, B. remember, and C. name if we want to trust God to manage life's up and downs.
A. Stop
It is easy to get discouraged by our situation and naysayers. The first practical step of managing life's up and downs is to stop listening to the discouragement and naysayers and start focusing on God.
Reflection: When life comes at me fast, what is my initial reaction?
Everyday Wisdom: So, every time I feel discouraged: STOP and say GOD HELP ME TO SEE AND HEAR YOU!
B. Remember
Trust in the original Hebrew means remember. We must remember our past experiences with God and let that fuel your faith to believe that God can work out your current situation. Journaling and speaking about what God has done for you in the past will help you remember the power of God for your future.
Reflection: When was the last time you saw God's involvement directly in your life to bring blessings? How did you know it was God?
Everyday Wisdom: So, everyday: take time to mark what God has done for you!
C. Name
The name of the Lord speaks to His nature and character. Review the names of God and apply His name to whatever situation is before you.
Reflection: What is your favorite description or name of God in the Bible? How does that name of God encourage you to keep practicing your faith?
Everyday Wisdom: So, everyday: call on the name of the Lord to help you!
Put these steps into practice every day and your journey to seeing the rewards of your salvation and to live your best life will begin.
