Episode 3: Jaime Patino

Listen Later

Have you ever thought of how our City could be better? Jaime Patiño has.  Do you see something that could be improved on?  Jaime Patiño wants to hear from you.
In our interview I was curious.  What is it that takes a person from wondering how to make a difference, TO actually taking action and creating results?  Jaime is someone who gets involved.  He shares stories with our listeners of his experiences.  Whether it is working with our Union City Police to strengthen relations with our community.  His work on the Save Our Hills victory.  Serving as Chairman on the Board of Human Relations Commission for Union City, or serving on the Tibursio Vasquez Health Center board of directors.
“We have 90 to 100 students (in the New Haven School District) that are homeless.  They may look fine, but at night they are sleeping in a car or couch surfing and you’d never know. ” – Jaime Patiño
Have you wanted to contribute to this community and wondered how?  In our interview we discuss many ways anyone can make a difference right here in our own community.
Jaime Patiño brings to light some of the improvements he’d like to see here in Union City.  More quality jobs and education.  Keeping businesses here, in Union City.  Safe neighborhoods and schools and easing traffic issues are some of the improvements he is focused on.
None of the work he does would be complete without his daughter who is often at his side.  He is a single dad of 10 year old Monica and she means the world to him.  Each day they spend time together no matter how busy his calendar is.  With all the work he does here in our community, in our interview, Jaime gives his advice on maintaining the work life balance we all strive for.
“Together, we can make a meaningful difference – for our families, friends, neighborhoods, schools and for the City of Union City!” – Jaime Patiño
