Your Mindset Matters as A Mom
Are you a professional woman who became a mother after age of 35? This podcast is for you! The Mature Mom Pivot Podcast was created for professional women who have become mothers after the age of 35. Each week we'll talk about navigating life as a mom after 35. After becoming a mom at 42, I developed a strong desire to support and empower other professional women over 35 on the mature motherhood journey. Any "route" is easier if you have a working navigation system. Ladies, I’m walking in your shoes, and I want you to know you are not alone. You don't have to try to survive; you can thrive, and you can establish balance to build a unique bond with your child! In today’s episode, we’ll talk about “Mature Mom Mindset Matters.”
Have you ever been in a situation that halted your thinking and sent you into a state of anxiety? We had our 19th wedding anniversary on May 31st this year. On June 2nd, my husband suffered a mini stroke. My ship sank for a minute. In 2021 I lost my mother to a bleeding stroke. I was seeing my husband going through what my mom went through. Anxiety crept in, and my life came to an abrupt halt. I only did the things I had to do, like virtual trainings and anything assigned to me at work. Everything else in my life reached a standstill, and I slowly lost myself. Trauma had crippled me, and I could hardly sleep through the night without waking up to check if my husband was breathing. One day, a friend said, “it is okay to feel what you are feeling, and he will be okay.” That statement pulled me out of the dark patch I was in for some reason.
In this episode, I share the essence of having the right mindset. From my experience with my husband’s stroke, I learned the importance of having the right mindset. I know sometimes life surprises us, which can easily mess up our mindset.
We can learn how to give ourselves the grace to move past the experiences. One of the best ways to give ourselves grace is by using affirmations/declarations such as: • I give myself grace; I’ll consider what I need. And do one thing I enjoy • I’ll be thoughtful about myself so that I can be at my best for myself, and my child • I am doing an amazing job raising my child and perfection isn’t real or required • I give myself grace because I deserve it. And I’m worthy of being loved and respected. Listen as I share more tips on nurturing the right mindset as a mature mom. Also, I will share an amazing lesson I learned from a friend when I was expecting my daughter.
