With things still a little unsettling and more and more people being impacted from all this uncertainty we wanted to bring one of our amazing Chingona amigas & Mental Health Therapist to help reassure you that it's okay to not be ok during these times and to guide you on why you should start seeking therapy no matter what age. In this episode, our girl Sonia Salazar, Mental Health Therapist, brings to light how she saw the positive impact of Therapy, first hand growing up which inspired her to want to become a Therapist herself. She works specifically with Latinx and immigrant school age children, adolescents, families and young adults in the community she grew up most of her life, Echo Park. Sonia is also passionate about bringing awareness to the community of the direct link between mental health and education. She has worked as an after school high school program director helping youth of color and families persist towards higher education. Sonia is a firm believer that when a student leaves to college they also take their families, community and inter generation trauma.
