Episode 3 (S4) Podcast on the Mount.

Listen Later

The podcast equivalent of feeding the five thousand with sparse chat representing the loaves and the fishes is brought to you by Tim and Rory with a little help from our friend, Ed Blake of Ventnor, who operates a successful fishing business.  Rory’s loaves (and buns) ensure we have bookends for a full menu of topical chat both in the studio and out on location.

Tim meets up with Ed at Ventnor’s Spyglass Inn to chat about fishing, roads, ferries, Ventnor, and rugby, matters which concern most of us islanders.  We’ve also generated a fun moment to share, and celebrate, with Ed, who had an opinion on our previous incursion into producing podcast promotional jingles … with a little help from the AI helpers lurking around computers these days.

We also cover some of our own activities on and off the island, from afternoon tea in Wivenhoe to pottery painting inspired by Picasso in Eccleshall near Sheffield.

From spouting support for the ‘Port (local football) to shouting “gardyloo” at swimmers off the Wight (following reports of combined sewage overflows) we make sure you’re covered in all aspects of human endeavour that affect our island home, and those dwelling upon it.

Chess games with a cruise ship 2nd officer and local government re-organisation aren’t natural bedfellows, but here, on QWightLike A Podcast everything goes in a harmonious exchange of human experiences..  If only that were true elsewhere in the world.

Tune in to QWightLike for a dose of gentle fun, occasional serious frustration, but largely celebrating the joy of life in all its guises.  Check out our Instagram account for some evidence of elements of this episode of the podcast.

Thanks for listening, as always, as we aspire to greater punctuality in future..

Tim and Rory
