A Master Hypnotist emerges as the inspiration for the antics of Byron and Lum. 

Santanelli visited Eau Claire, Wisconsin  on September 6th, 1897. Within a month a hypnotic craze had spread throughout the area with the help of my mother's grandfather Byron Wadsworth Culver and his friend Lum.
