Should Affiliate Managers Do Affiliate Marketing?

That's the question of the week and its something that I'm very passionate about. I started off as an affiliate and moved into the affiliate management role but still continued doing affiliate marketing. 

Is this ethical or is it a good thing?

I believe that it is important as it allows affiliate managers to fully help and support affiliates but also helps build relationships with them.
