In  Shunryu Suzuki's, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind he states “In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s there are few” 

This is evident in a child's ability to learn and in a lot of adult's attitude that "I know how to do that!" 

If a person can allow themselves open to new experiences they will be beter suited to learn. Bruce and Birdman talk about how this all applies to gun training and the ability to learn from others, even if they are not as good a shooter.

Training is a skill, specifically it is an observation skill and many times experts in one field (golf, football, baseball....) turn to experts in training to get better or even fix issues. Just because you are a good shot, deosn't mean you can't improve with training and proper feedback.
