July 19th 2021 is officially "Freedom Day" in the UK i.e. it is the day that all remaining legally binding government restrictions have been dissolved. This includes things such as mandatory mask wearing and social distance measures in public venues including pubs, bars and theatres etc. But on this same day the government is reporting that between 40-50k people are testing positive for the COVID-19 although this high infection rate is countered by the very low death rate of 19 reported deaths at the point of writing. So is freedom day a good idea or are we heading for another autumn/winter disaster? And if you think its a bad idea, what does a good idea look like given that all the vulnerable groups have now been vaccinated and vaccination was always plan A...what is your plan B and how do we get back to some sort of normal? Lastly would you take the Jab if it is made compulsory in order to do any of the social activities you enjoy? We discuss in Episode 30.
