If people really, truly, believed that Christ had something to teach them, they would probably make it a priority to seek out what it is he has to say. They would devote time daily to studying the word, and to prayer. And, well, most Christians just don’t do that. Instead they sort of operate our of the assumption that they know all the important stuff, and the rest is just superfluous.
