Episode 31 - Pt. 3 Time and Trauma: Thinking Through Heidegger in the Thirties with Richard Polt

Listen Later

Jules speaks with Professor Richard Polt about the philosopher Martin Heidegger. Richard Polt is a Professor of Philosophy at Xavier University, and he is the author of several books on philosophy, including his most recent book, called Time and Trauma: Thinking Through Heidegger in the Thirties. Heidegger is a controversial figure in that he joined the Nazi party in 1933, and so this left a shadow over his philosophical contributions. Evidence revealed in the last 20 years would suggest it is not so easy to let Heidegger off the hook.
