"I'm lucky to get to perform." "The arts don't make money--if I wanted to be rich I wouldn't have chosen this path."
"These institutions are hanging by a thread--they're non-profit, after all." "I can't ask for more--there's 100 others behind me who are dying for this opportunity." At some point all creators and performers have had version of these--and more-- run through our heads, and half the time we don't even realize it.
All stem from a scarcity mindset, rooted in fear, that comes from a focus on lack. In this episode I'll share some of my own experiences combating this destructive mindset, and those of others I've encountered in my career. What better time than Thanksgiving to remind ourselves that gratitude is the key to abundance?
