AJ Spieringshoek took the opportunity of being called up as an assistant coach for the National team in 2019, including mentoring the Emerging South Africa side during the SPAR Indoor Series in Durban. He continues to take every opportunity to learn.

At the 2020 Indoor IPT he led Western Province to their first Indoor IPT final in many years. During the tournament I caught up with AJ to chat all things hockey as well as ultra distance running, the Unogwaja Challenge and the travel industry.
