Have you ever seen something become the very thing that it was fighting? You know, this is always portrayed in movies as the hero becoming the tyrant; or - you know - something along those lines.

Well, today's Independence Day in the United States and when I think of the declaration of independence, I just wonder if we haven't become the very thing they were fighting against.

I think we've got to battle something more than just policies if we're going to make real. I think it's got to start with us, our judgements about ourselves and each other and the social norms we live in.
