▶️ In Indonesian, prohibition is stated by using: "JANGAN" (don't), "TIDAK BOLEH" (may not), or "DILARANG" (prohibited). ▶️ For example: (1) Jangan membuang sampah sembarangan (Don't throw rubbish away carelessly); (2) Jangan merokok di ruangan ini (Don't smoke in this room). ▶️ Those sentences similar to: (1) Tidak boleh membuang sampah sembarangan (Don't throw rubbish away carelessly); (2) Tidak boleh merokok di ruangan ini (Don't smoke in this room). In other words, "JANGAN" & "TIDAK BOLEH" have similar meaning. ▶️ The word "DILARANG" can also be used to prohibit someone. ▶️ For example: (1) Dilarang parkir di sini (Parking is not allowed here); (2) Dilarang mandi atau berenang di pantai ini (Swimming is prohibited at this beach). ▶️ To make the prohibition be more polite, you can add "-lah" to the word "JANGAN" = "JANGANLAH". However, it is not acceptable to add "-lah" to the words "DILARANG" and "TIDAK BOLEH". ❌(*Dilaranglah/*Tidakbolehlah)❌
