The legendary Vernon Reid came on the podcast yesterday (or actually we came and interviewed him at The Met in NYC) not only is Vernon one of the greatest guitarists of all time but he is a total original in the way that he thinks and expresses himself in a variety of topics regarding culture and beyond. I love following him on twitter and seeing his exchange with the people who follow him. Vernon was actually the first guest we tried to get on the podcast. I met Vernon when I first got signed to Real World back in the mid 90’s. He was there at the beginning of my recording career and so I wanted him to be at the beginning of this podcasting venture as well. We talked about everything. Freedom of speech, the joker, guitar pedals, blue tooth headphones, getting chipped, Jaco, Basquiat, New York in the 80’s ,The Black Rock Coalition and of course Living Colour, his seminal band that exploded on the scene in the late 80’s. Look forward to this one. In my opinion Vernon is a genius. And the way he expresses himself is like his guitar playing. A very interesting ride.
