Meditating The Word

Episode 325: Isaiah 65

Listen Later

Today's Prayer Meditation is on Isaiah 65
You have always been ready and willing to help, even before I asked, Father. When you call, I answer. When you speak, I listen. I despise the things that you despise. And I do only what I see you do and say only what I hear you say.
You open your hands to me all day long.
I will eat well. I will drink and be satisfied. I will celebrate and sing for joy. You will call me by a new and different name. When I bless others, it will be by your name, the God of truth.
You are creating new heavens and a new earth, and no one will even think about the old ones anymore. The weary and painful past will be as if it never happened. I am glad and will rejoice forever in your creation.
You are creating a new Jerusalem as a place of happiness. All who live there will be a source of joy.
You rejoice over Jerusalem, Father, your Holy City. She is your pride and joy and her people are a delight to you. The sound of weeping and crying will never be heard again.
I will not die young, but I will live a full life. I will still be considered young at one hundred.
I live in the house I have made my home, and eat the harvest of my own land. Invaders will not take my house or confiscate my produce.
I will live as long as trees, and will have time to enjoy my hard-won gains. I will not work in vain, and my descendants will not be doomed to misfortune.
I am blessed by you, Father, and my descendants too will be blessed.
You answer me before I even call to you. While I am still telling you what I need, you go ahead and answer my prayer.
So be it.
Until next time be blessed and be a blessing.
