Scott gives an amazing performance that perfectly captures her courage and tenderness as she struggles with terrible visions and falls into madness. Her portrayal of a woman plagued by a demonic presence and haunted by her history solidifies her status as a rising horror star. Smile 2 has a striking visual aesthetic, with inventive camera work that keeps audiences on edge and plenty of gore that creates some genuinely unnerving moments that linger long after the film ends. But compared to the original, some fans might find the jump scares a little too predictable, and the novelty of the "smiling demon" becomes less of an edge. Nevertheless, the film is a unique addition to the genre because of its psychological horror and dramatic climax.
