"He who believes is strong; he who doubts is weak. Strong convictions precede great actions." - J.F. Clarke
For years I have been convinced that in order to get people to be more generous we needed to find a way to find out what’s in it for them.
Then, I was lucky enough to find a book that has become one of my all-time favorites – Why Good Things Happen to Good People, by Dr. Stephen Post. Dr. Post is a world renowned leader in the study of altruism, compassion and service.
He is one of my heroes and I talk about his research on a regular basis. Having him on the show was like an aspiring basketball coach getting the opportunity to interview Mike Krzyzewski.
Stephen is the Founding Director for the Center for Medical Humanities, Compassionate Care, and Bioethics at Stony Brook University and travels the world speaking on the topics of giving, happiness, health, and success.
As if that wasn’t already impressive, Stephen earned a PhD from the University of Chicago and has been a medical school professor for nearly three decades. He’s been interviewed on broadcasts such as: ABC 20/20, Nightline, The Daily Show, John Stossel, “Talk of the Nation”, and the The Mehmet Oz Show.
