Many people say they have a faith. The question to ask is whether or not the faith can save. In this episode we will look at the faith of Abraham. Many people do not know that Abraham had a faith that could not save when he initially received the covenant and statement from God "Abram believed God and it was credited to him as Righteousness". This was a statement of prophecy made before he truly understood and believed in the promise as God had intended. Abram initially had his faith in his own works ("works of the law") and not of faith which demands the "work of God". In this episode we will explore the age old debate of Faith vs Works. Sadly many do not know or understand the argument of Faith vs Works and don't realize it is based upon how you receive the Holy Spirit and what the corresponding result. Many believe and have a faith in God, but because they don't understand or have faith in the impossible work that God requires; they come to God in faith and then struggle to live a holy and godly life free from sin. God desires us to be free, but we must have the faith of Abraham, not the faith of Abram. Abram believed in God and had faith, but only under the covenant of slavery (allegorically referred to as Hagar in Galatians) vs Abraham who believed and had faith, after God corrected him, and received the covenant of promise (allegorically referred to as Sarah in Galatians). It is the same with our faith. We must be born again and changed as by the Holy Spirit as a son of God vs only being born of flesh as a son of man. The Holy Spirit does an impossible work to set us free from sin so that we can walk in the righteousness of God and produce Spritual Works or Spiritual Fruit vs "Works of the Law" or "Works of the Flesh".Passages covered: James chapter 1, 2, 3; Genesis chapter 12, 15, 17, 18, 22, 26; Galatians chapters 1-5.
