On 13 May 2024, military.com published an article about soldiers potentially getting a significant pay raise next year. This comes from a bill The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The NDAA is a crucial piece of legislation that determines the budget and policies for the U.S. Department of Defense. It covers a wide range of issues, including troop pay. If passed, all junior  soldiers (E1-E4) are slated to receive a potential 19.5% pay raise as part of the NDAA, it would represent a significant increase in compensation and likely be aimed at bolstering recruitment and retention efforts within the military. This would be a notable development and could have various implications for servicemembers and their families.
