Hey guys its RJ, Unique, and Kalhil! In today's episode we're going to be discussing Socially Acceptable Behavior. Socially acceptable behaviors are those actions that that are normally viewed as appropriate to engage in when in the presence of others. It's mind blowing that as progressive of a society that we live in 2023, we're still having to discuss what's socially acceptable. For those of you who don't follow sports the NCAA Women's Basketball tournament concluded on April 2nd. What should've been a celebration for a "lifetime of hard work a dedication" all culminating with the winning of a national championship by LSU turned into media spectacle. What made it a spectacle was when one of the winning players, Angel Reese hit the John Cena in the direction of one of the players on the opposing team Caitlin Clark. Caitlin, coincidentally had done the exact same thing 48 hours previously when her team beat the University of South Carolina. What makes this interesting is that when Caitlin did the John Cena it was seen as competitive, but when Angel did it, it was seen as classless and a sign of a poor sport. Please join us as we discuss this topic. Our hope is that our listeners will get something from this deep, honest, and real conversation from the viewpoint of both a Licensed Professional Counselors and a Licensed Social Worker. Stay tuned as we drop new content weekly. If you want to watch this episode we can be found at Try Not To Overthink it on Youtube.
