It was the winter of 2017 in NYC, and German fashionista Anna Delvey checked into a  stylish new hotel in Soho for a lengthy high-flying stay she could never afford. It was the beginning of an enormous web of lies and promises she had no way of keeping. Truth told, she wasn’t German nor was she a Delvey. She was the Russian-born middle-class Anna Sorokin, a brilliant con-artist  from a fake uber-rich family jet-set on defrauding New York’s wealthy elite, hotels and banks of enormous piles of cash.
