I've been singing about kickin' somethin' all down Route 66 ever since chatting with Janine Rosche about her upcoming novel of faith, family, and forgiveness as she takes us along the "mother road" in her upcoming release The Road before Us. Listen in to see why that "mother road" moniker fits this book so well!

Chatting with Janine is always a treat, and this was no exception. With a story that echoes something in her grandparents' past to honor that memory, she's carefully crafted a beautiful story. 

Rosche brought in so many elements--adoption, kidnapping, swindling, love, generosity, and of course, forgiveness. So much of Janine has been poured into this that I wonder how she isn't curled up somewhere sucking her thumb and wondering why she's doing this writing thing at all!

My personal favorite is how "the Mother Road" adopts all travelers as they drive each mile.  Genius.  So, if you missed Mother's Day this year, this book would be a fabulous gift to say, "I'm sorry and I love you" all in one gorgeous, bookish package.  And if you didn't... well, grabbing it at 40% off right now means next year's Mother's Day (or birthday, Christmas, Book Lover's Day... whatever) is all taken care of!
