The movie "White Bird" opens with Julian enrolled in a Manhattan prep school of great renown, where he gradually confronts his own fears. He feels alienated when a bully in the lunchroom tells him that he is at the "loser's table," which fuels his fixation with fitting in and achieving a sense of "normalcy," which he views as being neither "mean nor nice." Around this time, his grandmother Sara comes to New York for an art show and tells him a poignant tale from 1942 in Alsace, a place that isn't formally under Nazi rule but is close enough to sense the danger that lies ahead. The protagonist of the tale is fifteen-year-old Sara, a Jewish girl whose parents reject the possibility that she could face Nazi persecution. Watch this film in full HD quality on HuraWatch.
