Stumbling Through Enlightenment

Episode 34 – Feeling Our Way Through The Healing Journey

Listen Later

Our Check-In this week begins as Edward shares some of his continuing experience navigating his anxiety, depression, and medication use. Edward has found that the medication has brought his anxiety to a place where he feels he can work with it. Jason shares some of his experience and advice from one of the med managers that worked for him. This starts a conversation about what “normal” feels like and how someone who has lived with anxiety and depression for so long experiences it. We also speak about letting go of some things that we take for granted through our disfunction.

This week's Deep Dive is a little different. In preparation for a later segment, Lorri uncovers and is triggered by her past trauma. Through this experience, we delve into what it can feel like long after we leave a traumatic situation. Even having done healing work around it, Lorri experiences body symptoms of when she was living in an abusive situation. We talk about the difference between flashbacks, triggers, and emotional responses. We also cover nervous breakdowns and what we can do when we find ourselves confronted with PTSD.

This week’s Off The Rails is brought to you by sleep and an accidental purchase That Jason made from Amazon! Edward rediscovers the comfort of his bed, Jason purchases $100 sheets that he is addicted to, and Lorri regales us with stories of her sleeping adventures in the bedroom. We find the comedy in something we all do every day.
