Joseph of Arimathea took Jesus's body and placed it in a new tomb. Women followers of Jesus came on the first day of the week to anoint Jesus's body. The stone was rolled away from the tomb and the tomb was empty. Two angels appeared telling the women that Jesus was risen. They told this to the 11 apostles and Peter ran to Jesus's tomb finding it empty. The risen Jesus appeared to 2 men on their way to Emmaus. These 2 men reported this to the apostles. During this, the risen Jesus appeared to the apostles. Jesus was in his full risen body, not just a spirit. Jesus later led them outside and Jesus ascended back into heaven as the apostles watched.
