We talk about 1944’s the Uninvited this week. This is one of the first films to portray ghosts as legitimate entities as Rick Fitzgerald and his sister Pamela buy an abandoned 18th-century house from the stuffy, rude Commander Beech. Despite Beech’s granddaughter’s objections, they move in move in and soon find themselves experiencing a supernatural presence and employ the help of Batman’s Alfred Pennyworth himself, Alan Napier, to rid the house, and granddaughter, of the spooks!
